Information on the process of updating ShipStation Connect to the new ShipStation Connect v4 or later.
ShipStation has released a new version of ShipStation Connect to improve the printing experience for documents and labels. This article will guide you through updating ShipStation Connect on your system.
Why should I upgrade to the new version of ShipStation Connect?
Upgrading to the new version of ShipStation Connect gives you access to the following features:

Auto-update: ShipStation Connect's auto-update feature automatically keeps the app up-to-date with the latest Connect features.

Future enhancements: ShipStation Connect's redesigned back-end sets the stage for upcoming feature enhancements.

macOS Monterey: Support for macOS 10.12.x Monterey

Print Sharing: The new version of ShipStation Connect simplifies sharing printers with your ShipStation account users.
Take advantage of the new ShipStation Connect features by upgrading to the latest version of ShipStation Connect.
Follow the two-step instructions for your operating system (MacOS or Windows), which will:

Uninstall the old version of ShipStation Connect

Install and launch ShipStation Connect to access the new version
Before you begin, be aware that uninstalling ShipStation Connect will reset any custom settings in your ShipStation account back to the default settings. Any printers or scales with a custom name, shared with other users, or disabled will be reset to their default state. We recommend noting your Connect Settings before you uninstall.
Remember, when logging into ShipStation to do so using the same username used to register ShipStation Connect so you can see a list of your workstations and printers.
Windows
To uninstall the old ShipStation Connect version from your Windows computer:

Go to the Windows toolbar. Then, right-click on the ShipStation Connect icon. Choose Exit.

Enter Task Manager into the Windows search bar and press Enter to open it.

Search the list of running processes on the Process tab for any running instance(s) of nw.exe. Then, select the nw.exe process(es) and click the End Task button.
There may be more than one nw.exe process running. Be sure to end all of them.

Enter Add or Remove Programs into the Windows search bar, and press Enter to open Windows Apps & Features.

Enter ShipStation Connect into the Search this list field. Then, select the ShipStation Connect application in the results list and click Uninstall.
If prompted, click Uninstall again to begin the uninstall process.

Verify that Remove the application from this computer is selected and click OK.

Enter %localappdata% into the Windows search bar and press Enter to open the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local folder.

Right-click the ShipStation Connect folder and select Delete.

Right-click the Apps folder and select Delete.
The old version of ShipStation Connect is now uninstalled. Next, follow the steps in the Install ShipStation Connect section to install the new version.
macOS
To uninstall the old version of ShipStation Connect from your Mac:

Click the ShipStation Connect icon in your toolbar and choose Quit.

Search for Activity Monitor in your Spotlight search. Then, locate ShipStation Connect in the list and click the stop-sign symbol
.
If no ShipStation Connect activity is present, move to step 3.

Go into the macOS Finder and hold the Option key on your keyboard.

Click the Go menu, then choose Library.

Open the folder called Application Support. Then, move the folder called ShipStation Connect to the trash.
The old version of ShipStation Connect is now removed from your Mac. Next, follow the instructions in the Install ShipStation Connect section to install the new version.
Install ShipStation Connect on each workstation that has a printer connected to it. ShipStation Connect is compatible with both macOS and Windows.
Operating System Requirements
ShipStation Connect is supported on the following operating systems:

Windows 10 or later. Make sure any available updates for your version of Windows have also been installed.

macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or later.
ShipStation Connect may work on earlier versions of these operating systems. However, earlier versions are not supported and are not recommended.
Install ShipStation Connect only on your Printer Workstation(s)!
Any computer that does not have a printer connected, even if you use it for ShipStation, does not need to have ShipStation Connect installed.

Click Install ShipStation Connect for Windows/Mac , depending on your operating system.
ShipStation Legacy
If you are still using ShipStation Legacy, please use the following links to download the new ShipStation Connect installer. Then, continue with Step 4 below.

Launch the downloaded installer, then follow the steps to complete the ShipStation Connect installation.
Depending on your internet speed, downloading the installer can take a few minutes. Follow your specific web browser steps to launch the downloaded installation file.
Once the installation is complete, you may delete the downloaded installer file.
You now have the most recent version of ShipStation Connect. From now on, ShipStation Connect will auto-update when updates are available so you don't have to worry about using an outdated version.

Windows users: ShipStation Connect should automatically launch once the installer has completed.
macOS users: Open ShipStation Connect from your Applications folder.

Click Yes when prompted to launch ShipStation Connect automatically when logging in to your computer.
We recommend allowing ShipStation Connect to start automatically when you log in to your workstation. If you click No on this screen, you must manually launch ShipStation Connect when you wish to print labels from ShipStation using the ShipStation Connect method.

Enter the ShipStation username and password you use as the ShipStation admin when prompted for a username and password.
If you have multiple admin users, choose the username you want to use to administer ShipStation Connect settings in the future.
When you are logged in to ShipStation with this username, you can rename, disable, and share printers with other users, even if you are logged into ShipStation on a computer that is not the printer workstation.
Check WorkStation Name
The Workstation Name should match the name of the workstation. If the workstation has multiple users, ensure the WorkStation field corresponds to the currently logged-in user.

Click Login.

Close the ShipStation Connect window. The app will continue to run in the background.
