Using barcodes can help increase workflow efficiency when processing orders. This article goes over what barcode features are currently available in ShipStation.

ShipStation's default packing slip includes a Scan to View barcode, which can be used to quickly bring up the order in ShipStation. This barcode will appear at the bottom of the packing slip and, once scanned, it will bring up the Order Details window for the order so you can view, modify, or process the order.

Use Barcode Scan Search to locate an order
If you are using a system that allows you to create barcodes with order information, you can use the Barcode Scan Search feature to locate orders by scanning a barcode of the order number, customer name, or other searchable order fields.

Each Barcode Scan Action Report contains a list of barcodes associated with certain actions in ShipStation, or you can use it to apply Shipping Presets to your orders.
Alternately, a Barcode Scan Action Quick Reference Sheet is a document you can customize to only include specific actions, such as the actions you perform most frequently, or a list of distinct actions you want a user to perform.
If you are on the Silver subscription plan or higher, you can add barcodes to customized packing slips. These barcodes can include information like order number, SKU, or other details.
You can use this packing slip barcode along with ShipStation Barcode Scan Search feature above, or you can use the barcode with other systems that allow for barcode scanning.
