Shipping international orders in ShipStation follows the same process as shipping domestic orders. The difference is the type of label that is printed, and if any additional forms are necessary (like customs declarations, commercial invoices, or certificates of origin).
Service providers each have their own required documents, which are created by the carrier and sent back to ShipStation to be printed along with the label.
ShipStation provides all the tools necessary to create customs declarations for orders and print any necessary forms. To find out a carrier's specific international shipping requirements, please contact the carrier directly.*
*ShipStation does not support international shipping with Australia Post or Sendle at this time.
Customs Declarations in ShipStation
ShipStation automatically creates a customs declaration section within the order details for orders that import with an international address. This is where the information printed on the customs forms will come from.
The declarations, by default, automatically populate the information based on the items included in the order.
You can edit how declarations are created in Settings > Shipping > International Settings. See How do I auto-populate customs information for my products? for more details.
NOTE: ShipStation cannot generate international documentation for Royal Mail at this time, but customs declarations are still required for international shipments.
Labels and Forms
The labels and forms will be dependent on your service provider's requirements.
For some carriers, ShipStation may electronically submit customs forms. Review the following articles for more detailed information on shipping internationally with non-Royal Mail carriers:

- Do my customs forms get transmitted electronically?
Note: Forms that appear in the Forms column in the Shipping tab do not automatically print when printing the labels. If you need to print that form, you will need to do so by clicking on it and printing it separately.
