There are two ways to update order information in bulk...
- Update carrier and shipment information by using the Bulk Update feature within the order sidebar.
- Apply other types of changes using Apply Bulk Actions. The bulk actions are a lot like what is available in our Automation Rules but can be used to update options on all selected orders after they've imported.
First, make sure the Show Sidebar option is checked.
Next, select all the orders you wish to make the same change to. The sidebar will update to allow you to update the shipping options available for those orders.
Select each option you wish to change and make the necessary adjustments.* Or, apply a preset to all of the selected orders.
*Unselected options will leave the associated field on the orders alone.
Click Update Selected Orders to apply the changes.
You can then immediately get rates for the selected orders, and also create labels for the selected orders at this time (note: creating labels for multiple selected orders at once will automatically add those orders to a batch).
Apply Bulk Action
This method can be used for more than updating shipping settings. For example, bulk actions include (but are not limited to):
- Adding dry ice options
- Setting specific packing slips for orders
- Assigning orders to a user
- Adding notes
First, select the orders you wish to make the change to.
Then, go to Other Actions, and then select Apply Bulk Action.
Here, you have the option to apply the action to orders you've selected, or all of your orders in the current view.
Just select your action and confirm!
Using the Apply Bulk Action method is a good option when you've created a new automation rule and want to apply the same action to orders that have already imported.
Please note that there is no undo function for bulk actions. However, you can simply apply another bulk action to make bulk changes to the selected order at any time.
