How do I set up a Rollo printer (Mac)?

Rollo thermal printers are compact and very straightforward to set up on a Mac. You don't even have to go into CUPS! 

First off, download this Rollo Driver for Macs. Go through the steps it gives, then plug in your Rollo printer to the power source and connect it to your computer directly via its USB cable.

Head to System Preferences under the Apple Menu () in the top left corner of your computer screen.

Then click the Printers & Scanners icon.

Next, click the + button under the Printers window. From the dropdown, click Add Printer or Scanner...

The Rollo will be displayed as Printer ThermalPrinter. Select it from the list.

If desired, rename the printer on the Name field. And on the Use dropdown, "Choose a Driver" by clicking Select Software.

Locate and select Rollo Printer and click OK.

Now, the Driver also gives you the option to print a sample label. From the Rollo-Mac app, click 3. Print Sample Label and if everything goes correctly, all the settings will be configured as such.

Calibration


Once this is completed, load your labels into the Rollo printer and click & hold the blue button on top until it beeps. This will calibrate your label size (4"x6"). 

Now, the Driver also gives you the option to print a sample label. From the Rollo-Mac app, click 3. Print Sample Label and if everything goes correctly, all the settings will be configured as such.

 

 Once done, your Rollo is ready to print!
