If you use the Merchant Fulfillment Network (MFN) Prime program (also called Amazon Seller-Fulfilled Prime (SFP) program), and your Amazon store is connected to ChannelAdvisor, it is possible to import your Amazon Prime Orders into ShipStation and use the Amazon Buy Shipping API to create shipping labels for them.
Configure ShipStation to tag these orders when they import, so you will always know which orders are Prime and need to be processed right away!
To import these orders and have ShipStation tag them, follow the steps outlined in detail below:
- Connect your Amazon store as a selling channel in ShipStation
- Verify your Amazon email address within ShipStation
- Connect your ChannelAdvisor store (if it is not connected already)
- Set your Amazon selling channel in ShipStation to inactive
- Create an automation rule to tag Prime orders
Connect your Amazon store to ShipStation
If you have not done so already, you'll need to connect your Amazon store as a selling channel to ShipStation. This will enable ShipStation to later add the Amazon Prime Tag to your ChannelAdvisor/Amazon Prime orders.
1. Follow the instructions in How do I connect my Amazon.com Seller account to ShipStation? to connect your Amazon store.
- If your Amazon store is already connected, go to Verify your Amazon email address within ShipStation.
Verify your Amazon email address within ShipStation
1. Go to Settings > Selling Channel > Store Setup and click Edit next to your Amazon store.
- If you already added your Amazon store and set it to inactive, click the option to Show inactive stores first.
2. Go to the Branding tab and enter the desired email address into the email address field. Click Verify this email address.
3. On the pop-up that appears, click Send Confirmation Email. You should receive an email to that email address shortly.
4. Follow the instructions in that email to complete the email verification process. Now, the text under the Email field in the Amazon store's Branding tab should read, This email address has been verified for your account.
Connect your ChannelAdvisor store to ShipStation
1. If you have not yet connected your ChannelAdvisor store, go back to Settings > Selling Channel > Store Setup. Click +Connect a Store or Marketplace.
2. Choose ChannelAdvisor from the options, and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Click Connect.
4. Set your Amazon store to inactive. This way, your Amazon orders only import through your ChannelAdvisor selling channel, and not through the Amazon selling channel as well.
Set your Amazon selling channel to Inactive in ShipStation
1. In Settings > Selling Channel > Store Setup, click Edit next to your Amazon selling channel.
2. In the Setup tab, uncheck the box that reads, Is Active?
3. Save your changes.
Your Amazon selling channel is now hidden from the list of connected selling channels, and will not import any orders into ShipStation.
Once you’ve done this, your Amazon Prime orders will import into ShipStation from Channel Advisor!
Create an automation rule to tag Prime orders
Unlike our integration with Amazon, ShipStation cannot automatically detect when an order imported through ChannelAdvisor is Prime. ShipStation relies on the Requested Service value (for example, the requested service could contain Prime NextDay as part of its text) to indicate a Prime order. You can then set up an automation rule to apply the Amazon Prime tag to these orders, so you can create labels with the Amazon Shipping carrier.
NOTE: You may need to reach out to ChannelAdvisor to ensure your Prime requested service names are set up correctly. You can view a list of them on the ChannelAdvisor developer portal.
1. Go to Settings > Automation > Automation Rules
2. Click +Create a Rule
3. Set the Criteria to be as follows:
Marketplace > Equals > ChannelAdvisor
Requested Service (Marketplace Value) > Contains > Prime
4. Set the Action to be:
Add a tag... > Amazon Prime Order
The resulting rule should look similar to this screenshot:
5. Save your new rule.
Going forward, all ChannelAdvisor orders that import and match the rule criteria will get tagged with the Amazon Primer Order tag. You can use this tag to identify your Prime orders, and these orders will then be able to use the Amazon Shipping carrier for their labels.
If you have orders that already imported and you'd like to apply the tag to them, choose the option to Reprocess Automation Rules from the Settings > Automation > Automation Rules window. This will rerun your import rules on all of your Awaiting Shipment orders.
