To file an insurance claim directly through ShipStation, you must have added Shipsurance to the shipment before creating the label.
If you selected Carrier Insurance as the insurance provider, you will need to file claims directly through the carrier specific insurance portals, which are linked below.
1. Go to the Shipments tab and select Shipments from the sidebar.
2. Locate the order and click the Shipsurance link under the Insurance column to submit your claim. If you do not see the Insurance column, make sure the column is added in the Columns drop-down in the top right-hand corner.
If Shipsurance requires that you send your customer a form to sign, you may download it from the link at the bottom of this article.
Note: The Shipsurance account used must be the account created through ShipStation and billed through the credit card used for your ShipStation account. If you have linked a personal Shipsurance account to ShipStation, you must file your Shipsurance claim directly in your Shipsurance account portal. If you are unsure if you are using a ShipStation or personal Shipsurance account, check Settings > Shipping > Carriers & Fulfillments. If there is no Add Funds option for Shipsurance, then it is a personal account.
If you purchased insurance through the carrier itself by selecting Carrier Insurance from the Insurance drop-down, you can find links to start those claims processes below:
