Batches are a great way to streamline your workflow in ShipStation. Using the batch option gives you some flexibility in how you organize your orders, and also allows you to process large groups of shipments at once in the background while you continue to work.

Currently, each user can have up to five open batches at a time. These appear on the bottom left of your ShipStation Orders window, and the open batch number will also display in the Open Batch column of your Orders tab. Once a batch has been processed, you can then view specific batch information in Shipments > Batches.
Keep in mind that batches are user specific, meaning while other users can view orders that are in another user's batch, only the user who created the batch can edit the batch or process it.
Create a Batch
There are two ways to create a batch...
1. Create one on the fly at the bottom of the left-hand by clicking +Create a New Batch...
2. Select the desired orders and choose Add to Batch in the sidebar. Then select Create New Batch. You can also add orders to an existing batch here.
Add Orders to a Batch
1. Drag & drop the orders from your list of orders to the batch area in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Note: If you attempt to add an order to a batch that is already in another batch (including another user's batch), you will get prompted to move the order. ShipStation will save you from any duplicate shipments by only allowing an order to be in one batch at a time.
You can choose to move the order to the new batch, or leave it where it is.
2. As noted above, select the desired orders and choose Add to Batch, then select the Batch number you want to add those orders to.
Process a Batch
When you are ready to create the labels for a batch, select the batch number from the sidebar. You will see all of your orders in this batch in the Orders grid.
1. In the Actions bar click Process Batch.
Once you select Process Batch, a screen will display the batch’s progress. You can close this window and the batch will continue to process in the background.
2. When you are ready to print your processed batches, you can either go to the Label Queue to select them or go to Shipments > Batches.
Pro tip: The best practice when using batches is to use the Process Batch button. If you instead select the orders within a batch and click Create Labels, this will cause ShipStation to auto-create a new batch with these orders and then process within this new batch. When this occurs, you may see the orders remain in your previously created batch, even though their status has changed to Shipped. If this happens, simply cancel the open batch, and select the new batch from your Label Queue or Shipments > Batches window to print the labels.

Cancel a Batch
If you need to cancel a batch, just click on that batch in the sidebar, and click the Cancel Batch button.
This removes the orders from the batch and makes them available to other users to create individual labels or add to other batches.
Note: Batches cannot be deleted. They can only be Processed or Cancelled. Once a batch is cancelled, that batch number is skipped in the batch number sequence.
