How do I fulfill my orders using DCL?

The DCL ShipStation connector allows you to integrate ShipStation to DCL through the API. Once you’ve connected ShipStation to your DCL account, DCL will be able to fulfill your orders automatically. Then, DCL will send the shipment information to its respective Selling Channel through ShipStation.

Connect to DCL

To connect your ShipStation account to your DCL account, you will first need to locate your ShipStation API keys. You can find your API Key & Secret by going to Account Settings, then click API Settings. You should see your API Key & Secret. Please note that you may need to click Generate API Keys if you’ve never used them before.

Next, click the Setup Your Warehouse button at the top of the DCL configuration page here.

Copy/Paste the API Key & Secret from ShipStation into the corresponding fields on the DCL setup page.

Press the Next button to allow DCL to connect to your ShipStation account and click Select a Warehouse to view the Ship From Locations you have set up within ShipStation. (Please see here if you need help configuring a Ship From Location.)

From the list, select the Ship From Location (warehouse) you need to link to a DCL eFactory account (listed in the group LINK TO DCL).

Once you’ve selected a Ship From Location to link to DCL, enter your DCL eFactory credentials to authenticate the connection and click Link to eFactory

NOTE: If you need to Unlink a Ship From Location from a DCL account, select the Ship From Location and press the Unlink from eFactory button.

Configure your ShipStation Connector

Press the Login button on the top of this page.

You will be asked to enter your DCL eFactory credentials.

If you have linked only a single Ship From Location, you will be redirected to the connector page called Warehouse Preferences. If you have linked multiple Ship From Locations, you need to select the Ship From Location you want to configure. Then, click Next to continue.

NOTE: On the Warehouse Preferences page you have the option to update the settings only to the selected Ship From Location or to apply the settings to all of your connected Ship From Locations linked to the same DCL account.

Order Processing Workflow

CUSTOMER PLACES AN ORDER

Orders in ShipStation are usually created within a connected sales channel. Once a customer places an order in your ecommerce store, ShipStation will assign a Ship From Location. Your default Ship From Location will be applied to all incoming orders unless otherwise applied by an automation rule. If you have linked that location to a DCL eFactory account, the order information is automatically imported into DCL.

DCL ACKNOWLEDGES THE ORDER

Once we import the order into our system, you can see it through the eFactory portal. If you have specified an acknowledge tag in the connector settings, you will see the acknowledge tag in ShipStation Orders grid.

TRACKING INFORMATION FLOWS BACK THE CUSTOMER

Once a shipment is created in DCL, that shipping information will be synced back with the ecommerce store through ShipStation, which will trigger a tracking email to the customer (if the option is checked in the connector settings).
On your ShipStation portal, the order will be marked as "Shipped" with carrier, tracking number and shipped quantity information.
