ShipStation's biggest selling point is how quickly and efficiently you can print out labels for your various selling channels. However, ShipStation doesn't stop there! Once your label has been created, we'll also notify the selling channel and email the recipient with the shipment's tracking information, thus saving tons of time that would otherwise be relegated to the medial task of copy/pasting tracking numbers back into your selling channels.
We want to help make your shipping process as efficient as possible. If you already have your own methods in place to notify both the selling channel and customers, or you want to delay the notifications from going out until a specific time or event, check out these two articles below:
Selling Channel Notifications
When a label is created in ShipStation, ShipStation will then notify the selling channel of the shipment. For most selling channels, this is what we will update:
- Shipped status
- Tracking number
Some selling channels, like Magento or BigCommerce, also support partial shipments. So, if you split a shipment, we'll send back each of the shipment notifications.
Below are our articles that address some of the most common questions about Marketplace Notifications:
- Does ShipStation automatically update my marketplace with the shipped status and tracking number?
- What does ShipStation tell my Selling Channels?
Reverb Marketplace: What information is communicated between ShipStation and my Reverb marketplace?
After the marketplace has been notified, ShipStation also sends a shipment notification email to the recipient. You can use ShipStation's default template, or customize the emails your customers receive.
The email templates allow for both WYSIWYG editing as well as a more dynamic HTML viewer to adjust your emails to your unique preferences.
Below are ShipStation's articles that go over setting up both Shipment and Delivery email Notifications.
