For international orders, ShipStation automatically creates customs declarations based on your account settings. If you need to adjust the customs information for a shipment, you can do that through the Configure Shipment Widget.
To adjust the customs declarations for a shipment, go into the order or shipment* detail view and locate the Configure Shipment Widget.
*For the Shipment Detail view, the order must have a shipment created.
Click on the Customs Declarations link located near the bottom of the widget.
In the Customs Declarations window, you can adjust the package contents, non-delivery option, and description, quantity, value, and harmonization code.
Any item marked with a red star is required information.
When you're done making changes, click Save Declarations.
That's it! When you create the international shipping label for the shipment, this information is used to also create customs documents which you can then print through ShipStation.
- USPS customs declarations are printed directly on the label, so no additional customs documents will be created.
- You can download customs forms from the Shipping Grid or the Customs Declarations modal after you create the label.
