    Logan McKay

Hi, I am Logan McKay and I am part of the Fulfillment and Warehouse staff at Latched Mama! We are an e-commerce company that sells breastfeeding attire. I am 15 year old high school student and this is my very first job. I have the kindest coworkers who have given me a very non-stressful experience for my first job. My favorite things to do in my free time are listen to music and ride my bike because they help me clear my head. My favorite musical artist is Tyler, the Creator. My favorite shows to watch are The Office and Grey's Anatomy. My favorite character in The Office is Creed because of his unpredictability and the fact that you never really do learn his true story. My favorite Grey's Anatomy character is Alex Karev because of his courage, In school I mostly excel in Marketing and Biology. I hope in the future to do something with Digital Marketing. Thank you for considering me!

Hey Logan! Welcome to the community. We are so excited to have you here and thanks for entering. It sounds like you have the coolest first job ever and awesome coworkers!

I also love Grey's Anatomy, but I would have to say my Favorite Character would be Lexie Grey because I pretty much have the same life attitude and personality.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forums.

    Pierre Gagnon - Logistics

    Hi!

I'm Pierre Gagnon-Gingras and I am the logistics coordinator at Poches & Fils. My first job at 16 consisted of building custom Rubik's Cubes and various twisty puzzles (cuboctahedrons, master cuboctahedrons, siamese cubes) which I sold on eBay (wish Shipstation existed back then!). I have since then worked as a horticulturist and as a beer expert, and completed studies in Natural Sciences. At my current job, I started as a warehouse worker. Then I became the shipping manager and since last month I am the logistics coordinator. My job is to manage our warehouse team, organize inventory controls, optimize the picking process, work on process improvement, and ship all of our B2B orders. We do B2B and B2C, and for the last year, our order volume is 15,600 individual orders.

Poches & Fils is an apparel company based in Montreal, Québec, Canada. We produce customizable pocket tees that are assembled right here in Montreal, on a made-to-order model. When I first got my job here, I became enamored with the ease of use of Shipstation, but I noticed that we weren't using many of the advanced functionalities such as service mapping, automation rules, views, filters, data exports, etc. I can honestly say that I attribute my success at this company to my usage of Shipstation for shipping automation and VBA for other business processes.

Shipstation has helped us solve a ton of problems, especially when things get hectic around the holiday season. However, there are still a ton of things we would like to implement in Shipstation. Namely, our made-to-order business means that we need to track inventories for the parts that are assembled into an illustrated pocket t-shirt (the pocket + the t-shirt) but also need to track the inventory of assembled t-shirts when we accept returns. This is a bit of a headache for us currently, as we haven't found a simple solution to prioritize picking an inventoried assembled t-shirt over picking the parts and assembling it once again. I'm not sure if this makes sense but I'm starting to think we need a custom integration for it to work seamlessly.

On a personal note, what I love to do is learn new stuff and apply it. It is why I have learned about Python, VBA, AWS, Shopify, Shipstation (Shipstation University Toronto was fantastic!), sales forecasting, and Six Sigma over just the past year. I want to keep learning and the next steps for me are to get a Six Sigma green belt certification, start new VBA projects at work, and to mingle more with other eCommerce professionals to share our experiences and hopefully build a stronger community here in Montreal. I also love late nineties movies and listening to podcasts. Richard Linklater is my favorite filmmaker.

There you go ! I hope I can participate in this community and help other users
