However, this is something that would be best addressed by our support team as this is something that our community members would be unable to assist with. I see that you are currently talking to our support team already and I have forwarded your concerns and feedback to them directly as well.

I just had this happen to me as well.  My account is showing a negative balance.  I don't understand how this can happen.  I mean, the subscription fee is charged to my credit card (and was today successfully), and I can't purchase labels without having money in my account to do so (stamps.com).  I do not understand how my account can go negative.  there is no accountability here.  There is very little data or reports to show everything being charged to your account (at least not what I can find).  Like a credit card statement showing every charge and credit.  This is alarming to me.  I do not like charges for no apparent reason.

Now I have deadlines to ship, and I can't ship unless I pay this unknown fee.  I am going to have to use a different service.  I am not paying for something I don't know what it is or how it happened.  I have a feeling if I just pay it, it will vanish into the abyss and no one will be able to tell me why I am being charged some random fee that put my account in the negative.

Some have said it could be a carrier adjustment?  What the bleep is that?  They decide days or weeks later to charge a different rate for my shipments already sent?  I don't think so.  You can't just change rates after I have already shipped a package.  That has to be illegal.  That is like McDonalds sending me a bill for a burger and fries I had two weeks ago and they changed the rate for the meal I already ate?

Please explain to me what is going on.

    Hi Scott,

Welcome to the community and thank you for your comment. I am sorry to hear that you are running into trouble with adjustments, but we are happy to provide you with some information.

Carrier adjustments occur when it is determined by the carrier that the information provided is missing specific information or contains incorrect information that would change the rate of the label.

However, if you feel that these adjustments are not correct you do have the option to dispute them.

If this is specifically related to UPS with ShipStation Carrier Services you will want to follow the steps outlined in the article below.

ShipStation Carrier Services: UPS - Post Billing Adjustments

If this is just related to USPS shipments you would want to follow the steps outlined in the article below:

    USPS Automated Package Verification

Please let us know if this helps you out or if you need any additional information.

    Hello Erin,

Thank you for your reply. Your answer is very much helpful. We are facing a different problem. We cannot see the adjustment charges in the statement or the history page which is very much annoying. In this case we don't have the option of dispute as well.

Now we have removed the carrier that is sending us adjustment charges. The Ship station shouldn't enable the integration with a carrier unless the full visibility is not provided to the customers. The e-commerce business is a continues process of learning and savings. The shipping is a real Jinn, the one will hold in a bottle will win this game. This happened with the a lot work on packaging design and consideration on size & weight adjustment to balance product cost with the sale prices etc. Now if a carrier keep sending us hidden/blind charges we cannot work. This blind spot will destroy us. We would recommend to enable integration with this carrier in a right way, this is good for the business of both parties.
