The Delivery Group UK offers domestic and international parcel delivery services for shipments originating in the UK. The ShipStation integration with The Delivery Group supports a variety of expedited services for shipments within Great Britain, international services, and automatic tracking.

The Delivery Group UK Integration Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • A UK-based ShipStation account

  • An active account with The Delivery Group UK

  • Your account Client Name, username, and password

Shipping Requirements

When creating labels with The Delivery Group UK, you must include the following information in your shipment request.

Service Selection

  • service_code: The Delivery Group service code (see Service Details section)

Package Information:

  • weight.value and weight.unit - Package weight in grams (whole numbers only)

  • dimensions.length, dimensions.width, dimensions.height: Package dimensions in millimeters

  • dimensions.unit: Must be set to millimeters

Recipient Address (ship_to object)

  • name: Recipient name (required)

  • address_line1: Street address (required)

  • city_locality: Town or city (required)

  • postal_code: Postal code (required)

  • country_code: ISO 2-letter country code (required)

Reference Information

  • Include at least one reference identifier for tracking purposes (e.g., order number, customer reference)

Contact Information

  • ship_to.email: Recipient email address (optional)

  • ship_to.phone: Recipient phone number (optional)

Notification Preferences

  • Email and SMS notifications are enabled by default unless explicitly declined

Connect The Delivery Group UK Account to ShipStation

To connect your account with The Delivery Group UK to ShipStation:

  1. Go to Account Settings.

    Shows the gear-icon for Settings in the toolbar

  2. Select Shipping, then choose Carriers from the sidebar.

  3. Select the Your Carrier Accounts tab.

International Shipping Requirements

When shipping to international destinations, you must include item-level customs information in your shipment request.

Required Product Information (packages.products array)

  • description: Item description (required)

  • quantity: Item quantity (required)

  • value.amount: Total item value OR unit value (required)

  • value.currency: Currency code (required; e.g., "GBP")

  • country_of_origin: Item country of origin (required; two-letter country code)

  • harmonized_tariff_code: HS code for customs classification (required; e.g., 42023100)

Additional Customs Fields

  • packages[].contents_type: Set to "documents" for documents-only shipments, or "merchandise" for goods

  • customs.contents_explanation: Reason for export (required when customs.contents is "other")

  • customs.shipping_cost.amount: Shipping cost value for customs declaration

Tax Identifiers (tax_identifiers array, if applicable)

Depending on your destination, you may need to include:

EORI Number - For shipments to/from EU countries

  • taxable_entity_type: "shipper" or "recipient"

  • identifier_type: "eori"

  • value: Your EORI number

IOSS Number - For B2C shipments to EU with value ≤ €150

The carrier can be used to create domestic shipping labels.

The carrier can be used to create international shipping labels.

ShipStation will submit international customs declarations electronically to the carrier.

The carrier can be used to create domestic return labels.

ShipStation will display estimated shipping rates for the carrier based on the connected account information and shipment details.

Shipment insurance, provided by the shipment's selected carrier, can be added to the shipment in ShipStation. This insurance would be in addition to any default coverage already provided by that carrier.

Shipping labels created for this carrier will include a tracking number that can be used to view the shipment status on the carrier's tracking website. Tracking may not be available for all shipping services.

ShipStation can close the day's shipments for the carrier and submit the manifest electronically. The End of Day process may be mandatory or optional, based on the carrier and your account with them. A printable file may or may not be available when submitted electronically - see End of Day (PDF).

  • Label Messages are only supported for the following services:

    • Domestic: Utrak No Tracking, Utrak

Shipping to Northern Ireland (Windsor Framework)

For shipments from Great Britain to Northern Ireland under the Windsor Framework, you must include the same item-level customs information required for international shipments (see International Services section above).

UK IMS Tax Identifier

For GB to Northern Ireland shipments, include your UK Internal Market Scheme number in the tax_identifiers array:
