Parcelforce from ShipStation is a shipping carrier included with UK-based ShipStation accounts. Parcelforce provides domestic and international shipping services for parcels originating in the UK. Domestic services include England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, the Scottish Highlands, Islands, and Scilly Isles. International services include all European countries.

Parcelforce from ShipStation Requirements

  • A UK-based ShipStation account

  • Activate ShipStation Carriers by adding your payment method.

    You'll be prompted to enter your payment method the first time you attempt to create a label with any ShipStation Carrier, or you can add in advance in either your Carrier settings or Payments & Subscription settings.

  • Add funds to your ShipStation Balance.

    All ShipStation Carrier labels are purchased using the funds in your ShipStation Balance. The first time you add your payment method, you'll be prompted to add funds so you can begin purchasing labels right away.

  • Weight and dimensions are required for all Parcelforce shipments.

  • All Parcelforce shipments must include a Ship To and Ship From Phone Number.

  • Parcelforce requires both a first name and last name in the Ship To and Ship From addresses.

Activate ShipStation Carriers

To activate ShipStation Carriers you must add your label payment method and agree to the carriers' Terms of Service. Once activated, you'll have access to all the carriers available for your account's country.

To activate ShipStation Carriers:

  1. Click the Get Started button.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your billing details, agree to the terms and conditions, and finish the setup.

Once completed, you can add funds to your ShipStation Balance and create labels with ShipStation Carriers.

Enable Auto-Funding For a Seamless Experience

We recommend enabling auto-funding to ensure your balance always has the funds for your label purchase needs.

Adding New ShipStation Carriers

ShipStation will sometimes add new carriers to the ShipStation Carriers roster! If you have already activated ShipStation Carriers and would like to start using the new carrier's services, go to Settings > Shipping > Carriers and click the Update button.

Agree to the new carrier's terms and you're done! You can immediately start creating labels with the new carrier.

Return Labels

Parcelforce Worldwide from ShipStation supports the creation of domestic return labels using either the Express 24 or Express 48 services. Your customers will then need to drop these packages off at a local post office to be returned.

Parcelforce Collection services

Parcelforce Collection services are typically made 7:00am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday, depending on the service selected. If you are not available during a scheduled collection time, Parcelforce reserves the right to charge for the collection that was supposed to happen.

The carrier can be used to create domestic shipping labels.

The carrier can be used to create international shipping labels.

ShipStation will submit international customs declarations electronically to the carrier.

The carrier can be used to create domestic return labels.

ShipStation will display estimated shipping rates for the carrier based on the connected account information and shipment details.

Shipment insurance, provided by the shipment's selected carrier, can be added to the shipment in ShipStation. This insurance would be in addition to any default coverage already provided by that carrier.

Shipping labels created for this carrier will include a tracking number that can be used to view the shipment status on the carrier's tracking website. Tracking may not be available for all shipping services.

ShipStation can close the day's shipments for the carrier and submit the manifest electronically. The End of Day process may be mandatory or optional, based on the carrier and your account with them. A printable file may or may not be available when submitted electronically - see End of Day (PDF).

This carrier can be used to create multi-package shipments, where multiple labels are created for a single shipment and the individual packages are linked together in a single shipment record with a master tracking number.

Notes about Parcelforce from ShipStation

  • Custom label messages and branding are not available for Parcelforce shipping labels. The Order Number will be printed on the label in the Sender Reference field.

  • Parcelforce from ShipStation shipments are eligible for the standard £100 or £200 coverage for loss, damage, or theft of items, depending on the service used. See Parcelforce's page on Inclusive compensation for the details on the standard coverage level for each Parcelforce service. Additional carrier insurance is not available.

  • All Parcelforce shipments will require a signature upon delivery.

  • Parcelforce labels cannot be voided in ShipStation.

  • Parcelforce labels can be created without specifying a Drop-Off point.

Post-Shipping Charges

Certain courier-imposed fees may be assessed after you create a label and dispatch the parcel. 

These fees include, but are not limited to:

  • Excess weight surcharges

  • Out-of-area surcharges

  • Courier pickup-up surcharges

These fees are assessed by the courier and reported back to ShipStation. Once ShipStation has received notification of these charges, they will be billed to the credit card you set up for carrier fees.

Filing for Lost or Damaged Items

Qualifying shipments include standard coverage up to £100 or £200 for loss, damage, or theft of items, depending on the service used.

Parcelforce from ShipStation Refund Request

Click the following link to file a claim for a lost or damaged shipment: ShipStation Refund Request Form. Claims will only be accepted within 28 days of the ship date.

To file for a lost or damaged shipment, you will be asked to provide the following to ShipStation support:

  • A sales receipt or invoice indicating the cost to acquire or manufacture items lost or damaged in shipment.

  • A photo of the damaged items OR indication from Parcelforce that the parcel has been lost in shipment.

  • The tracking number of the label for the shipment.

  • The cost of the label.
