UPS® Ground Saver (formerly UPS SurePost®)

UPS Air Service Adjustments Due to Worldport Incident

An aircraft accident occurred on Tuesday, November 4, at Worldport in Louisville, Kentucky, UPS’s main hub in the United States. As a result, UPS is making the following operational adjustments:

  • The money-back guarantee (also known as the UPS® Service Guarantee) for packages either shipped from or delivered to the United States is currently active for some Air and International services. Some others remain suspended. See the UPS Service Guarantee page for details.
  • Delivery commitment times for:

    • UPS Next Day Air® Early and UPS Worldwide Express Plus® services to the U.S will be extended by 90 minutes.
    • UPS Next Day Air®, UPS 2nd Day Air A.M.®, and UPS Worldwide Express® services to commercial and residential locations in the U.S., and all other time-definite Air and International Air services will be extended to end-of-day (11:59 p.m. on the guaranteed day of delivery).

Contingency plans are in place to help ensure that shipments arrive at their final destinations as quickly as conditions permit.

UPS Ground Saver® services provide an economic solution for residential ground delivery.

UPS® Ground Saver can be used for Domestic Shipments to the 48 contiguous United States.

Before enabling this option in ShipStation, contact your UPS account rep to ensure your contract allows Ground Saver® shipments and connect your UPS account to ShipStation.

UPS SurePost® Updates

  • As of April 2, 2025, UPS has replaced the name SurePost® service with Ground Saver® as its economy product. This change will appear in all shipping, billing, pricing systems, and labels.
  • Also as of April 2, 2025, UPS has reduced Ground Saver's free Declared Value Coverage from $100 to $20. To make up the difference, you can purchase ParcelGuard on ShipStation starting at $0.99 per $100 of insured value.
  • Effective 12/30/2024: UPS Ground Saver® service will no longer deliver to PO/APO/FPO addresses, as well as shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. Territories, and U.S. Post Office Boxes™. UPS Ground Saver® service is not available for international packages. If you have any questions, please contact your UPS representative.
