New Customers: Link Your USPS Business Account to ShipStation

This guide is for new customers who have received a unique promo code from their USPS representative and have not yet linked their NSA rates to ShipStation.

For an overview of how Negotiated Service Agreement (NSA) customers use a USPS Enterprise Payment Account (EPA) with a ShipStation account , see our USPS Business Portal & Enterprise Payment Account (EPA) page.

Already have a USPS Business Portal and NSA Rates? See our page for Existing Customers: Link Your USPS Negotiated Service Agreement (NSA) Account.

To access your specialized USPS Negotiated Service Agreement (NSA) rates within ShipStation, you must complete the mandatory Customer Onboarding Portal (COP) flow. This process links your USPS Enterprise Payment Account (EPA) and your contract rates directly to your ShipStation account via Stamps.com.

Information Requirements to Connect Your USPS Business Account

Be sure you have received the following four pieces of information from your USPS sales representative:

  • Promo Code: Required to create your new Stamps.com account.

  • CRID (Customer Registration ID): Required for final setup.

  • MID (Mailer ID): Required for final setup.

  • EPS (Enterprise Payment System) Number: Required for final setup.

Step 1: Register and Set Up Your ShipStation Balance

Before beginning the COP process, you must establish your new ShipStation account and ShipStation Balance payment method:

  1. Register: Go to ShipStation.com and create your new account using the promo code your USPS representative provided you.

  2. Verify Your Account: Complete the mandatory email and phone verification steps. Note that the USPS connection prompts will not appear until these verifications are finalized.

  3. Set Up Your ShipStation Balance: Add a valid payment method to your ShipStation Balance.

Step 2: Access the USPS Connection Prompt to Authenticate via Stamps.com

Once your account is verified and your ShipStation Balance is set up, a connection-prompt pop-up titled Connect your USPS business account will appear automatically on your dashboard:

Setup Progress Will Persist

If you log out before completing the setup, this pop-up will repopulate the next time you log in.

Dashboard Banner: A banner titled Connect your USPS business account to Stamps.com to access NSA rates will also persist at the top of your screen. This banner will remain visible throughout the app until the process is finished.

  1. To begin, click See Instructions.

Clicking See Instructions from either the pop-up or the banner will open a new browser tab to the Stamps.com guidelines.

Automatic Login: You will be automatically authenticated into the Stamps.com interface based on your active ShipStation session. No additional login is required.

  5. Return to the original Stamps.com browser tab to continue, once your payment method is successfully added (it may show as Pending for ACH).

ACH Bank Account Verification (Micro-Debits)

To verify the payment account being added, two micro debits (less than $1.00) will be made to the bank account within 24 to 48 hours. Monitor bank accounts and note the amounts, as they will be needed to verify the account.

Once you have the two values from your bank account, log back in to the USPS Business Portal and verify those entries. If needed, you can go to My Account and click the link under the Payment Account.
