Scan to Search allows you to scan a custom barcode containing either the Order # or Order ID so ShipStation can perform the action you designate: view the order, ship the order, or add order to a batch.
Use Scan to Search
To use the Scan to Search feature:
Go to the Orders tab.
Go to Other Actions in the Action menu and select Barcode Search.
This will open the Barcode Scan Search pop-up.
Use Hotkeys To Be More Efficient!
Use the Hotkey command Ctrl + Shift + S (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + S (Mac) to open the Barcode Scan Search pop-up from the Orders tab.
Select the order status in which you want to search and choose what you want ShipStation to do with the order.
Display it
Ship it
Add it to a batch (new or existing)
Use your barcode scanner to start scanning.
Tip
Check the Always Keep window open if you have multiple actions you wish to perform or multiple orders to process.
Use Scan to Search Legacy
If you are using the Legacy version of ShipStation, the Scan to Search process differs from the latest version of ShipStation. Review the procedure below for details on the Legacy version of this feature.
To use the Scan to Search feature:

Use the Hotkey command Ctrl + Shift + S (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + S (Mac) to open the Barcode Scan Search pop-up from the Orders tab.
In place of hotkeys, you can instead scan the Enable Barcode Listening screen barcode from the General Barcode Scan Action Report to open the Barcode Scan Search pop-up.
In the Barcode Search pop-up, select the order status in which you want to search and choose what you want ShipStation to do with the order.

Ship it
Add it to a batch (new or existing)
Use your barcode scanner to start scanning.
