How do I file an insurance claim?

How you file an insurance claim depends on the type of insurance you added to the shipment.

🇺🇸 ParcelGuard

ParcelGuard is available to US-based ShipStation accounts.

If you added ParcelGuard to your shipment, you can file your claims directly through ShipStation. Just click the ParcelGuard link for the shipment record in the Shipments grid and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you do not see the Insurance column, click the Columns button and enable the Insurance column.

🇺🇸 Shipsurance

Shipsurance is the US-based insurance option for ShipStation Legacy accounts.

If you added Shipsurance to your shipment, you can file the claim directly through ShipStation. Just click the Shipsurance link for the shipment record in the Shipments grid and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you do not see the Insurance column, click the Columns button and enable the Insurance column.

Not Available for Personal Shipsurance Accounts

If you have linked a personal Shipsurance account to ShipStation, you must file your Shipsurance claim directly through your Shipsurance account portal. The ability to file via a link in ShipStation will not be available in this case.

If you are unsure if you are using a ShipStation or personal Shipsurance account, go to Settings > Shipping > Insurance. If there is no Add Funds option for Shipsurance, it is a personal account.

🇦🇺 🇨🇦 🇬🇧 Total Shipping Protection by XCover

XCover is available to Australia, Canada, and UK-based ShipStation accounts.

If you added Total Shipping Protection to your shipment, you can file the claim directly through ShipStation. Click the Total Shipping Protection link for the shipment record in the Insurance column of the Shipments grid, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Keep All Packaging and Damaged Goods

When filing a claim with XCover, keep all packaging and the damaged goods as they were received, as photographs may be required for the claim processing. Do not dispose of any shipment materials or goods before the claim is completed.
