By default, all inventory locations are Pickable and can be included during order picking. Mark a location as Non-Pickable to exclude it from order picking while keeping inventory stored in the warehouse.
Configure Pickable locations in ShipStation individually or update multiple locations using a CSV import.
Mark a location as Non-Pickable when inventory should remain stored in the location but should not be included during order picking.
Common examples include:
-
Damaged Goods: Inventory that cannot be sold or fulfilled.
-
Quarantine or Inspection Areas: Returned inventory awaiting inspection or restocking.
-
Reserve or Overflow Storage: Inventory stored separately from active picking locations.
-
Staging Areas: Inventory temporarily held before it is ready for picking.
-
Inaccessible Locations: Areas that are temporarily or permanently unavailable for picking.
Use this option to update an individual inventory location.
To set a location as non-pickable:
-
Select the warehouse that contains the location you want to update.

-
Click the Actions menu for the location, then select Edit.
