Connect a Store in Simplified View

ShipStation Simplified View allows you to connect a store in only a few steps and have your orders automatically imported. You can connect as many stores as you would like.

What's Included

Once a store is connected, you will be able to:

  • Configure how orders are imported

  • Select how addresses are verified

  • Monitor the activity of the store connection

  • Configure customer notifications

  • Deactivate a store connection.

Connect a Store in ShipStation Simplified View

There are two ways to add a store to your ShipStation Simplified View:

  • From the Home tab, and

  • From the Settings tab.

First Store Connection Only

You will only be able to connect your first store from the Home tab. Any future stores will need to be added from your Settings.

Connect a Store from the Home Tab

To connect a store from the Home tab:

  1. Click Home in the Simplified View toolbar.

  2. Click Connect a Store.

  3. Click + Add Store.

  4. Select your desired Store from the options listed.

  5. Enter the account information and follow the remaining steps for that store.

    Steps to connect may vary per order source.

  6. Click Connect Store.

Connect a Store from Settings

You will only be able to connect your first store from the home page. Future stores will need to be added in your Settings.

To connect a store from the Settings page:

  1. Click the Settings gear icon ShipStation icon for Mac O S. Black "gear" symbol in Grey square. in the Simplified View toolbar.

  2. Click Connected Stores.

  3. Click + Add Store.

  4. Select your desired Store from the options listed.

  5. Enter the account information and follow the remaining steps for that store.

  6. Click Connect Store.

Configure How Store Orders Import

Once a store is connected, you can configure how orders are imported. Orders can be imported either automatically or manually.

To configure how orders import:

  1. Select your desired order importing process.

    Important Note on Manual Imports

    If Manual is selected, orders will only import into ShipStation when you do so manually.

  2. Click Save.

Set How Addresses are Verified

Once a store is connected, you can configure if and how addresses on orders are verified.

To configure how addresses are verified:

  1. Toggle on address standardization for domestic, international, or both order types.

  2. Click Save.

Monitor Store Activity

Once a store is connected, you can view that store's past activity.

To view a store’s activity:

  1. Click the Activity tab.

    The most recent activity for that store will show.

Configure Residential / Commercial Indicator

Once a store is connected, you can configure how shipments default when they import as undefined. They can default to Residential, Commercial, or Marketplace by default.

To configure this default indicator:

  1. Open the Residential / Commercial Indicator Default menu and choose between the following:

    Default to commercial if no value is returned

    Default to commercial if no value is returned, or

    Default to marketplace values if provided

    Shows the Residential /Commercial Indicator Default menu on the Store Details page.
  2. Click Save.

Deactivate a Store Connection in Simplified View

You can deactivate a connected store at any time.

To deactivate a connected store:

  1. Click the Settings gear icon ShipStation icon for Mac O S. Black "gear" symbol in Grey square. in the Simplified View toolbar.

  2. Click Connected Stores.

  3. Click the Actions menu Actions menu. Three-dot ellipsis beside your desired store connection.

  4. Select Deactivate Store.

    A confirmation pop-up will open.

  5. Click Deactivate Store again in the pop-up to confirm.
