Packing Recommendations

Packing Recommendations automatically recommends the best package configuration for an order based on your product dimensions, weights, and available packages. You can review the recommendation before applying it, or automatically create the recommended multi-package configuration with a single click.

Requirements

Before you use Packing Recommendations, complete the following:

Get Packaging Recommendations

To get a packing recommendation:

  1. Go to the Orders tab.

  2. Select an order.

  3. Click Package Recommendations in the order details.

    ShipStation displays a recommended packing plan using the fewest packages needed for the order.

  4. Select Apply.

    ShipStation automatically creates the recommended multi-package configuration for the order.

Review or Modify a Recommendation

After applying a recommendation, you can review the package configuration and make changes if needed.

To modify a recommendation:

  1. Go to the Orders tab.

  2. Select an order.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Review the package configuration and make any necessary changes.
