TikTok now integrates e-commerce for US-based merchants into its platform. This capacity allows TikTok users to discover and purchase products directly through the app. Some features include shoppable ads, product links in videos, and collaborations with brands for promotional campaigns. TikTok Shop Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • An active account with TikTok Shop.

  • A US-based account with ShipStation

  • Shipping Options Setting in TikTok must be set to Seller Shipping.

  • TikTok Shop Username and Password

Only Seller Shipping is Supported

Be sure to set the Shipping Options Setting in TikTok to Seller Shipping. Our integration supports Seller Shipping only, and not TikTok Shipping. See the Shipping Options Setting section in this TIkTok help article for a step-by-step guide.

Order Import Requirements:

  • Must include a Ship To address.

Connect a TikTok Shop Store to ShipStation

To connect your TikTok Shop store to ShipStation:

  1. Select the TikTok Shop tile.

  2. Click Connect in the Set Up Store Connection popup.

    You will be redirected to a TikTok Shop page. Follow any instructions there to complete the setup in the store app.

After you've completed the connection steps, your store will be connected to ShipStation. You'll be taken to the store's Settings page to adjust the store-specific settings like branding, notification preferences, and product handling.

Available Features for the TikTok Shop Integration

The ShipStation integration with TikTok Shop supports the following standard features:

If a store allows custom statuses, this means you define that statuses your orders use in your selling channel. In most cases, if you have custom statuses you'll need to define which ShipStation statuses each custom order status corresponds to.

ShipStation will import the customer's email address with the order data and can send shipment confirmation and delivery emails to that email address (configured in your Store settings).

ShipStation will import the customer phone number with the order data.

ShipStation will import the shipping method chosen by the customer during their store checkout.

ShipStation will import the payment method used to pay for the order.

ShipStation will import discount and coupon information for the order.

ShipStation can determine if an order is a gift from the order data sent by the store.

ShipStation will import internal notes or order activity from the store into the ShipStation Internal Notes field.

ShipStation will import notes provided by the customer when they made their purchase.

ShipStation will import the total order weight from the store.

ShipStation will import the weight for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import an image URL for each line item in the order. These images will appear as thumbnails in your Order Details and can be included in email notifications and packing slips.

ShipStation will import item options (such as color or size) for each line item in the order. This data will appear in your Order Details and can be included in customer emails and packing slips.

ShipStation will import a product stock location for each line item in the order.

The shipment update ShipStation sends to the selling channel will include any Notes to Buyer set on the order in ShipStation.

Additional Details About the TikTok Shop Integration

  • Every 90 days TikTok merchants must reauthorize and reconnect their TikTok shop to ShipStation.

    • If you do not reauthorize, you will see this error: An error occurred attempting to update orders: Unauthorized : {"message":"TikTok API returned an error. HTTP code: 401 (Unauthorized). Error code: 105002. Error message: ‘access token is expired, please refresh it'.","transaction_id":"aa579a77-2fe4-4bd0-a8c3-fa37223caa4f"}’

  • Be sure to set the Shipping Options Setting in TikTok to Seller Shipping. Our integration supports Seller Shipping only, and not TikTok Shipping. See the Shipping Options Setting section in this TIkTok help article for a step-by-step guide.

  • You can map any data point from TikTok Shop to any Custom Field within ShipStation. The reverse is not supported.

  • Rules that apply to product images may impact orders.  If the product images fail to comply with the rules, order statuses, imports, and confirmations may fail to sync.

What it means: The TikTok Shop is no longer authorized.
