Manage Subscription Payment Method

For 🇺🇸 US-based accounts, you can use either a credit card or a PayPal account as your payment method for subscriptions. For accounts in any other country, you can currently only use a credit card for your subscription payment method. However, we will be expanding your payment method options in the near future!

System Maintenance and Enhancements for ACH/Pay-by-Bank Service

We are performing system maintenance and enhancements to the ACH/Pay-by-Bank Service. While this work is underway, existing merchants must contact support to have this service enabled for their account. Existing ACH customers can continue using the service without disruption.

ACH will not be available for new setups. We will update as soon as the service is available again.

The Payment & Subscription page allows you to manage several aspects of your ShipStation account. This article shows how to update your account payment details. For other options that you can manage on the Payment & Subscription page, review the following guides:

About Payment Methods

  • ShipStation accepts all major credit cards. Prepaid gift cards are not accepted.

  • If your payment method is declined, we will attempt to charge the same payment method again on the next business day.

Change or Update Credit Card

To change or update a credit card:

Verify Information is Up to Date

Verify that all credit card information is up-to-date. An expired or closed card may result in denial and put your account at risk of moving to Closed status.

  1. Go to the Payment Methods section.

  2. Click the Update Payment Method button under Payment Settings.

  3. Update the necessary details.

  4. Click Save when you're done!

Add Bank Account

ShipStation uses Plaid, a trusted third-party service, to securely link your bank account. Plaid supports thousands of U.S. financial institutions, making it quick and easy to connect your account.

To add a bank account as your preferred payment method for ShipStation Balance:

  1. Click the Update Payment Method button under Payment Settings.

  2. Click Continue Setup.

  3. Select Pay by Bank and add your billing information. Then click Continue with Pay by Bank.

  4. Verify your address, then click Save Address.

    You will be directed to a Plaid Pay by Bank connection page.

  5. Click Continue to connect your bank account with Plaid Pay.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your bank account.

  7. Click Continue.

    Once your account is connected, you’ll be directed back to the Payments & Subscription page to view your added payment method.

Change or Update PayPal

To change your PayPal billing details:

  1. Scroll down to the Payment Methods section.

  2. Click the Update Payment Method button under Payment Settings.

  3. Select PayPal as the Payment Method Type, then click Check out with PayPal.

    A pop-up will appear, prompting you to log in to your PayPal account.

  4. Log in to your PayPal account, verify your PayPal payment method, and review the PayPal Policies.

  5. Click Agree & Continue.
