Explains which carriers support scheduling pickups in ShipStation and how to schedule and cancel pickups in the ShipStation app.
ShipStation includes the ability to schedule a pickup for shipments that use certain carriers.
At this time, you can schedule pickups in ShipStation for the following carriers:
USPS shipments when using a Stamps.com account
UPS (when using ShipStation Carrier Services)
Once requested, you can also view, cancel, and resubmit the request directly in ShipStation.
Scheduling Pickups for Other Carriers
If you wish to schedule a pickup for shipments using other carriers, you must do so using the carriers' specified method.
If you have a Stamps.com account connected to ShipStation, you can request a free USPS pickup for the next shipping day (Monday through Saturday) directly in ShipStation.
Certain USPS Post Office locations do not support Saturday pickup, so a pickup request placed on Friday would be scheduled for Monday with these locations. Please contact your local Post Office to confirm their pickup schedule.
Select your Ship From Location from the sidebar list (only available if you have multiple Ship From Locations).
You should now see a pickup form:
ShipStation will automatically fill in some of the elements:
Number of pieces and Total Weight include all USPS shipments with a ship date matching the pickup date.
Pickup Address is your Ship From Location address, and the name is pulled from your Account > My Profile settings.
Adjust the Number of pieces, if needed, set a pickup location, and add any special instructions.
Click Request Pickup.
Once a USPS pickup request is submitted, you can view the request directly in the Pickup screen of your Shipments tab. If you have multiple Ship From Locations, select the location you wish to view.
You have until 2 AM CST on the Pickup Date to cancel or resubmit a pickup request.
Cancel request: Select the Ship From Location and click the Cancel Request button.
Resubmit: Edit the information in the form and submit the request again.
After 2 AM CST, you can view a read-only reminder of that day's pickup.
Underneath the read-only reminder, you can request a USPS pickup or cancel a request for the next business day.
The Carrier Pickups page in ShipStation allows you to schedule a pickup for shipments by select carriers.
The DHL Express pickup option is available for either DHL Express from ShipStation or individual DHL Express accounts.
The UPS pickup option is only available for UPS from ShipStation shipments.
FedEx is available for FedEx Ground and FedEx Express shipments.
All pickup options rely on the Time Zone set in the selected Ship From Location. If you have not set a Time Zone in your Ship From Locations, you may get an error when attempting to schedule a pickup in ShipStation.
Pickup Fees May Apply
Creating a pickup with UPS via ShipStation Carrier Services will incur a fee, which varies depending on pickup type and frequency.
Pickups scheduled through ShipStation are free for DHL Express via ShipStation Carrier Services.
If you ship via a private DHL Express account, you may incur a pickup fee using the steps listed below.
FedEx may apply surcharges to pickups from residential locations or locations not associated with your FedEx Account.
To schedule a pickup for your DHL Express or UPS shipments:
Select FedEx, DHL Express or UPS from the Schedule a Pickup drop-down menu.
Each option will only be available if the carrier is set up in your ShipStation account.
Fill in the required information: Ship From location, the Pickup Contact for this shipment, date of pickup, and time frame.
When scheduling a pickup for the first time, you must create a Pickup Contact. For DHL Express pickups, it must include Location Notes, even if it is simply "no notes".
Click the Schedule Pickup button to submit the pickup.
The Pickup Date will default to the next day so you might not see any Open Shipments listed right away. To view open shipments, change the Pickup Date to match the Ship Date on the labels.
